Place butter in a bowl and whip with a whisk until smooth. Gradually add brown sugar in two portions while whipping quickly.

Add the egg in two portions, whipping each time until incorporated.

Sift the dry ingredients (cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda) and add them to the bowl. Mix gently with a spatula until combined.

Add chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.

Scoop a spoonful of dough and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.

Press 3–5 chunk chocolate chips onto the top of each cookie. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 12–15 minutes.

Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes before transferring to a plate or cooling rack.
