- 200g burdock root, peeled and sliced
Seasonings
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- 💧 50ml water
- a dash of sesame oil
- a dash of sesame seeds
PASOS
Peel and slice the burdock root into thin strips. Wash lightly and cut into bite-sized pieces.
Heat 4 tbsp sesame oil in a pan over low heat. Stir-fry the burdock root for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Add sugar, soy sauce, and water to the pan. Cook over high heat briefly, then reduce to medium-low heat and simmer for 5 minutes until the liquid reduces.
Add corn syrup and mix well. Optionally, add sesame oil for enhanced aroma. Turn off the heat.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and serve. Enjoy the tender and flavorful burdock root stir-fry as a side dish or in dishes like sushi rolls or rice bowls.
