- 3 burdock roots
Seasoning
- 💧 2 cups water
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 🧄 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp corn syrup (added at the end)
PASOS
Peel the burdock root using a knife and slice it diagonally into thin pieces.
Cut the diagonal slices into thin strips.
Soak the burdock strips in the vinegar water to remove bitterness and earthy flavor.
Rinse the burdock strips several times in cold water to remove the vinegar taste.
Heat a small amount of cooking oil in a pot over medium heat and stir-fry the burdock strips for 5 minutes.
Add the seasoning ingredients (water, soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, and garlic) to the pot and mix well.
Boil the mixture for 20 minutes until the liquid reduces and thickens.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and add 1 tbsp of corn syrup. Stir well.
Continue simmering until the liquid is fully absorbed and only a small amount remains.
