    • 2 green chili peppers
    • 2 handfuls of rice cakes

    • 1/2 cup rice wine

    • 🧅 1/2 onion
    • 🧅 1/2 stalk green onion
    • 2 bay leaves
    • 20 black peppercorns
  • Seasoning

    • 5 tbsp red chili powder
    • 🧂 5 tbsp soy sauce
    • 🧄 2 tbsp minced garlic
    • 2 tbsp plum extract
    • 1 tbsp sesame oil
    • 2 tbsp corn syrup
    • 2 tbsp cooking wine
    • 🍎 2 tbsp fruit juice (e.g., apple)
    • 🧂 a pinch of salt
    • a pinch of ground black pepper

Soak the pork ribs in cold water for several hours to remove blood.

In a pot, add the pork ribs, broth ingredients, water, and rice wine. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

Prepare the rice cakes and slice the green chili peppers diagonally.

Mix all seasoning ingredients in a bowl to create the sauce.

After 20 minutes, remove the broth ingredients from the pot, leaving only the broth and ribs.

Cut the ribs into individual pieces and return them to the pot.

Add the prepared sauce to the pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

Add the rice cakes and green chili peppers to the pot. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the rice cakes are soft.

Taste and adjust seasoning with salt if needed. Turn off the heat and serve.
