INGREDIENTS
Main
- 6 mezashi (90g)
- đź§… 1/4 onion, thinly sliced
- 🥕 1/4 carrot, julienned
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp potato starch
- 3 tbsp salad oil
Nanban Sauce
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- đź§‚ 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 tsp dashi powder
- đź’§ 50 ml water
- 1/2 tsp sliced chili
STEPS
Thinly slice the onion, julienne the carrot, and slice the bell pepper after removing seeds and stem.
Mix all Nanban sauce ingredients in a bowl and add the sliced vegetables.
Coat the mezashi with potato starch.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the mezashi until golden brown on both sides.
While still warm, immerse the fried mezashi into the Nanban sauce, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
