INGREDIENTS
Chicken
- 🍗 1 piece (250g) chicken thigh
 
Vegetables
- 🥕 1/3 carrot (50g), thinly sliced
 - 1 bell pepper (30g), julienned
 
Coating
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
 - 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
 
Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
 
Seasoning
- đź§‚ 1/4 tsp salt
 - 1 tbsp sake
 - đź§„ 1/2 tsp grated garlic
 - 1/2 tsp grated ginger
 
Sweet Vinegar Sauce
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
 - 1 tbsp vinegar
 - 1 tbsp soy sauce
 - 🍅 2 tbsp ketchup
 - 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
 - đź’§ 150ml water
 
STEPS
Slice the carrot thinly and julienne the bell pepper. Remove seeds and stem from the bell pepper.
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Mix the seasoning ingredients in a bowl and marinate the chicken for 10 minutes. Coat the chicken with cornstarch and flour.
Mix the sweet vinegar sauce ingredients in a bowl.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan to 170°C. Fry the chicken for 4-5 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, stir-fry the carrot and bell pepper over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Add the sweet vinegar sauce and cook until thickened.
Plate the fried chicken and pour the sweet vinegar sauce over it.
