Thinly slice the burdock root and soak it in water to remove bitterness. Drain well.

In a pot, combine burdock, chicken, and water. Heat over medium heat until boiling. Skim off any foam.

Once the chicken is cooked, add the seasoning ingredients (sake, mirin, salt, soy sauce, dashi powder) and simmer for 2 minutes.
