  • Fish

    • 🐟 170g filleted mackerel
  • Vegetables

    • 50g mizuna greens
    • 🧅 82.5g green onion
  • Seasoning

    • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
    • 2 tbsp potato starch
    • Enough salad oil for frying
  • Marinade

    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 1 tbsp mirin
    • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp grated ginger

Cut mizuna into 3cm pieces and slice green onion thinly. Soak both in water for 3 minutes, then drain. Mix them in a bowl.

Pat dry the mackerel and cut into bite-sized pieces. Mix with marinade ingredients in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes. Drain, then coat with potato starch and black sesame seeds.

Heat salad oil to 170°C in a pot, about 2cm deep. Fry the mackerel pieces for 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.

Plate the fried mackerel with the prepared vegetables and serve.
