  • Vegetables

    • 🧅 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • Cheese / Dairy

    • 🧀 2 slices of melting cheese
  • Batter

    • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
    • 3 tbsp water
    • Breadcrumbs as needed
  • Cooking Oil

    • Cooking oil as needed

    • 🍅 Ketchup as needed
  • Seasoning

    • 🥚 1 egg
    • 🧂 1/4 tsp salt
    • A pinch of pepper
    • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs

Finely chop the onion and microwave it in a heatproof container covered with plastic wrap for 1 minute at 600W. Drain and cool. Cut the melting cheese slices in half.

In a bowl, mix minced pork, onion, and the seasoning ingredients. Divide into 4 portions. Fold the cheese slices in half and wrap them with the meat mixture, shaping into oval patties. Repeat for all 4 pieces.

In a tray, mix flour and water to form a batter. Coat the patties with the batter and then cover them with breadcrumbs.

Heat cooking oil to 170°C in a frying pan, ensuring it is about 3cm deep. Fry the patties until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, flipping occasionally.

Serve on a plate with ketchup on the side.
