Prepare the sauce by combining dark soy sauce, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, corn syrup, dried chilies, and water. Stir until sugar dissolves.

Prepare the batter by mixing cold beer, ice cubes, and 2 cups frying flour. Stir until smooth.
