- Adequate amount of cooking oil
Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tbsp gochujang
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp corn syrup
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 🧅 2 tbsp minced onion
- A pinch of black pepper
ÉTAPES
Prepare the king oyster mushrooms by trimming the base and gently cleaning the surface. Mix all sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
Cut the mushrooms into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a plastic bag with cornstarch and shake to coat evenly.
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan and pan-fry the mushrooms until golden and crispy. Alternatively, deep-fry at 170°C for extra crispiness.
Drain excess oil from the mushrooms using paper towels.
Pour the prepared sauce into a pan and bring it to a simmer.
Add the fried mushrooms to the sauce and coat them evenly. Reduce the heat and continue stirring.
