- 🐟 1 whole Spanish mackerel
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 🧂 Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Coating
- 2 tbsp frying mix
- Enough cooking oil for frying
Sauce
- 🧂 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp corn syrup
- 2 tbsp chili oil
- 🧄 1 tbsp minced garlic
Garnish
- 🌰 Sprinkle of sesame seeds
ÉTAPES
Cut the cleaned Spanish mackerel into bite-sized pieces.
Season the fish with mirin, salt, and black pepper.
Prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup, chili oil, and minced garlic in a bowl.
Pat the marinated fish dry with a kitchen towel.
Coat the fish evenly with frying mix.
Heat cooking oil to 180°C (356°F) and fry the fish until golden brown.
Drain the fried fish on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Heat the prepared sauce in a pan until it starts to bubble.
Add the fried fish to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and serve immediately.
