Main Ingredients
- 2 packs tofu
- 🧅 1 onion
- 1 stalk green onion
- 2 chili peppers
Seasonings
- Adequate sesame oil for frying
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 🧄 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup anchovy stock or water
- 1/2 tbsp chicken stock (optional)
- Generous amount of sesame seeds
الخطوات
Cut the tofu into thick, bite-sized pieces.
Remove excess moisture from the tofu using a kitchen towel or by sprinkling salt.
Slice the green onion diagonally, chop the chili peppers, and slice the onion into thick strips.
Mix soy sauce, chili powder, oyster sauce, minced garlic, anchovy stock or water, chicken stock (optional), and sesame seeds to create the sauce.
Heat a pan and add sesame oil. Fry the tofu until golden brown on both sides.
Remove the fried tofu and set aside. In the same pan, layer the onion slices at the bottom.
Place the fried tofu on top of the onion layer and pour the prepared sauce over it.
Add the green onion and chili peppers on top. Bring the sauce to a boil on high heat.
Lower the heat and simmer until the sauce thickens and reduces.
Serve the braised tofu as a side dish or over rice for a hearty meal.
